Ms. Morrow joined the firm in 2003 as a medical paralegal. In this role, she assists the litigation team by gathering, interpreting, and summarizing medical records, performing medical research, securing experts/consultants, trial preparation, and jury selection.Ms. Morrow graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree from Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois in 1978 and obtained her registration as a radiologic technologist. After graduation, she worked as registered radiologic technologist and special procedures technologist in Taylorville and Springfield, Illinois.
Ms. Morrow earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Legal Studies from the University of Illinois in 1988 while working at Memorial Medical Center as a special procedures technologist in the radiology department. During her studies, she lead an extensive research project on “do not resuscitate orders” and was instrumental in implementing policies and procedures at a local hospital on when to declare a patient brain dead.
Ms. Morrow subsequently worked as a medical paralegal with a highly recognized local law firm assisting counsel in representation of plaintiffs in medical malpractice cases, products liability, and personal injury cases. During her four years at the firm, she managed and performed numerous legal research projects. Her legal research projects resulted in changes in evidence laws on the admittance of medical records and a book chapter on how to locate expert witnesses.
Ms. Morrow was employed at Illinois State Medical Insurance Service now ISMIE Mutual Insurance Company (ISMIE) for many years. As a Professional Liability Specialist, she handled medical malpractice claims for physicians, assisted the Risk Management Department with presentations, and attended continuing medical education seminars primarily in labor and delivery issues and radiology. Upon her departure from ISMIE she joined CNA Insurance Company overseeing six states handling physician, long-term care, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, and pharmacy claims along with handling cases dealing with excess coverage issues.
